Meet Dr. Gavin Cohen - Optometrist Near You
Meet Dr. Cohen, a board-certified optometrist whose journey began in South Africa, where he graduated in 1993. He practiced there for five years, even co-owning a renowned optometric retail chain.
In 1997, he emigrated to Boston, MA, to complete an Advanced Standing International Program, where he graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1999. After this, Dr. Cohen moved to Atlanta and opened his first location in 2002 before expanding with a second in Brookhaven in 2011.
He specializes in ocular disease and custom contact lenses and practices medical optometry at the highest level. All his practices have state-of-the-art ophthalmic imaging technology to maximize the early diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts.
Dr. Cohen's approach extends beyond the realm of his practice. He also collaborates with primary care physicians and ophthalmologists to offer a multidisciplinary approach to eye care. His reputation as a curator of designer frames is shown by his high-end optical, where you can find fashion-forward eyewear from top brands and his very own eyewear line.
His consultancy roles with industry giants like Ciba Vision, Bausch and Lomb, Synergeyes, and WAVE contact lens companies attest to his authority in optometry. He is also engaged in clinical trials for groundbreaking contact lens designs and created his orthokeratology technique for myopia control called SightSleep™.
He frequently speaks at the annual Vision By Design specialty contact lens conferences. He is one of the few eye doctors in the country who successfully fits overnight corrective lenses for hyperopia/presbyopia and myopia control and lectures extensively on this topic.
He has regularly appeared on local TV stations to explain new eye equipment technology or contact lens fitting techniques. Dr. Cohen currently serves on the Board of Directors at Prevent Blindness Georgia.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Cohen finds joy in living in Atlanta with his wife and three children, where he enjoys wildlife photography, boating, fishing, and golf.
Dr. Anita Pandya is an accomplished optometric physician renowned for her expertise in vision correction, soft contact lens fittings, and the precise diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions such as dry eye.
Hailing from New Jersey and finding her home in Georgia at six, Dr. Pandya's journey led her to earn a degree from the University of Georgia before moving on to her doctorate studies at Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Her specialization includes eye disease, contact lenses, pediatrics, geriatrics, and primary care, reflecting her dedication to holistic eye health.
The path into optometry was paved for Dr. Pandya by the insights she gained while job shadowing in the field. These experiences led to her discovering the transformative potential of enhancing people's vision.
Her passion lies in patient education, where she takes joy in enlightening individuals about their eyes and making positive changes in the lives of those dealing with complex vision issues.
Beyond her commitment to eye care, Dr. Pandya enjoys exploring the vibrant tapestry of Atlanta and its surroundings. She also spends cherished moments with her fiancée and family and indulges in dance, travel, and swimming — seizing life's experiences with the same enthusiasm she brings to her profession.
